ECAC Picks

Friday 1/18

Dartmouth @ Brown– This one looks like a straight forward win for Dartmouth. It seems that Brown is going to have some goalie problems with Anthony Borelli having a flu. This is going to force Marco DiFilippo to come back early from injury to start tonight. 3-1 Dartmouth

Colgate @ RPI- The Engineers still have fight in them this season and nobody will want to meet them in the playoffs. It has been awhile since Colgate has been really tested, so can they hold the form they had going into break? 3-2 RPI

Cornell @ Union- The Dutchman were very close to knocking off the best team in the ECAC last weekend at Qunnipiac. That should make them very hungry at home this weekend, as they look for a momentum boosting sweep. Cornell’s recent form has been dipping. Union 2-0

Harvard @ Yale- This one is on NBC Sports tonight. Harvard had a tough loss to travel partner Dartmouth last weekend on the road. Yale is on a hot streak and that keeps going Friday night. Yale 3-2

Saturday 1/19

Harvard@ Brown-  Unless Borelli can get over his flu in one day, I think Harvard will take this game. Harvard 2-0

St. Lawrence@ Clarkson- Two bottom teams that happen to be travel partners. Clarkson won the first match up 4-1 and I think it will be a closer game this time around. 2-2 tie

Cornell @ RPI- I was pretty bold with my first RPI pick. Does that mean I am predicting a sweep for the Engineers this weekend? No I am not. Cornell 3-2

Colgate @ Union- This should be a really close game. I am going to give the edge to Union at home. 2-1 Union

Dartmouth @ Yale- I think this will be the best match up of the weekend. Both teams are capable of knocking off Quinnipiac and making things interesting down the stretch. Offensively though the Big Green are better. Dartmouth 3-2
