RMU topples RIT

There was only a Atlantic Hockey game this week, but it was a huge game. RIT and Robert Morris faced off with a lot on the line.  A win for the Tigers would have moved them to first in the standings, while a Colonial win would tie them for second with RIT and Mercyhurst.

And the Colonials’ won, with a convincing 4-0 win. They now sit in a tie for second place with RIT and Mercyhurst. Brooks Ostergard picked up his first shutout of the season, stopping all 32 shots. He also assisted on the Colonials’ second goal.

Adam Brace scored the first two Colonial goals before Scott Janklin and Cody Wydo finished off the scoring. Cody Crichton assisted on three of the goals.

The Colonials continued their success on the penalty kill, killing off all six RIT power plays.

Both teams have a break, like the rest of the league, until the end of December, when the second half of the season starts.
